Alpine Metal Tech is market leader for turnkey robot cells. Flexible automation solutions enable fully automatic production of different wheel types and sizes with highest productivity and wheel quality.

Various laser-based NUMTEC measuring machines are available for distortion, concentricity and axial runout, hub diameter, wheel orientation and the precise measurement of the visual side of wheels prior to the diamond cut process. The generated correction data are automatically transferred to the CNC machines. With the integrated wheel type detection and individual type tolerance values, correct measuring results can be ensured even with random production.

Alpine Metal Tech also offers a wide range of vertical lathes with numerous optional equipment. For example, you can choose between electro spindle with direct drive or belt drive and between two- or four-axis machining. To increase the cycle time, it is feasible to equip the lathes with a pallet change table. INTERMATO drilling machines are designed as dual-station machines as standard, but can also be supplied with only one working station, if space is limited. In the wheel industry, INTERMATO high-performance CNC machines stand for short cycle times and high product quality.

In addition to the individual configuration of measuring and CNC machines and the integration of machines from other manufacturers, the cell layout can be designed variably. This facilitates the integration of new machining cells into existing infrastructures.

A specially developed automation software, robots with double grippers, clamping devices for all machining steps and various safety fence variants complete the portfolio of Alpine Metal Tech robot cells.

    Laser-based distortion measurement of the outer clamping flange and calculation of the best wheel orientation in the CNC lathe -> improved wheel quality -> considerable reduction in scrap and reworking time
    Diamond Cut:
    Detection of distortions and irregularities in the casting and adjustment of the turning parameters -> no reworking will be necessary (new coating) -> increasing of the OK rate in the first turning process
    Balance Correction:
    Dimensional & balance inspection and precise asymmetric balancing -> reduction and elimination of residual unbalance within the necessary tolerance -> less wheel re-melting, reduced costs and higher production capacity
