SI Surface Inspection Unit
The automatic Vision System allows automatic detection of defects on surfaces by means of image processing, even on surfaces with a big amount of scales.
An image processing algorithm distinguishes defects like flakes, cracks, grooves or break-offs from other surface irregularities, such as stamp marks, engravings or scale. Every defect or deviation can be reviewed on several screens along the rolling mill.
