New AMAKON sludge bunkers for German municipal wastewater treatment plant

The plant is used to temporarily store the continuously accumulating, dewatered sewage sludge from a large municipal sewage treatment plant. For this purpose, the closed bunker with a capacity of 84 cubic meters of sewage sludge was designed and manufactured by Alpine Metal Tech at the Germany site (Dillingen/Saar) and successfully commissioned as a compact turnkey solution in only 1.5 weeks. In order to reduce the installation time to a minimum, the sludge bunker was completely pre-assembled and delivered by heavy haulage.

For the removal of sewage sludge, the stored sludge is loaded into trucks within shortest time by a conveyor system consisting of a hydraulic push-pull floor and spiral conveyors. For the highest possible loading capacity, an integrated weighing system is used, which automatically loads the appropriate tonnage for different truck sizes.
