With an official groundbreaking, Alpine Metal Tech SIMULATION was awarded with the newest live fire training simulator for Punta Gorda Airport, Charlotte County in Florida in the USA. This Simulator is representative of a modern narrow-bodied aircraft that combines the features of an Airbus A320, Boeing 737, a De Havilland DHC 8 and Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft.

Operable in all weather conditions, with special design considerations to withstand damage from hurricanes which are prevalent to the region. This simulator will contain the most advanced technology integrated into the control and safety systems. The overall project contains 14 external fires, 7 interior fires, and 5 zonal spill fires.

Justin Willott, CEO of Alpine Metal Tech North America explained to the government and fire department officials that “Punta Gorda will be in an elite class of training sites on the same level as Denver, Chicago, and Copenhagen.  The level of training will be second to none for both Charlotte County fire fighters as well as visiting fire agencies who will pay to use the site which will generate substantial revenue for the County.”

Manufactured in Pittsburgh, PA USA, this project is a collaborative effort by Alpine Metal Tech subsidiaries in North America and UK. The commissioning is scheduled to be in February 2022.
