Automated sealing plug removal

For the first time, the DES system, which enables the removal of the sealing plug directly after the helium leak test and before further processing, was successfully commissioned.

On site, the new removal system complements the existing combination of the DHS sealing plug handling system, which fully automatically closes the valve bore, and the following leak test system.

Manual removal of the plug is now completely eliminated. Instead, this activity is performed by the DES system with a cycle time of approximately 16 seconds.

Both MAKRA machines are optimized for chaotic production and do not require wheel data, thus simplifying operation and minimizing set-up times.
