New AZN multi-axial wheel testing machine ready for delivery

Last year Alpine Metal Tech received an order for the supply and commissioning of three testing machines – AZN, RTB and BUP – from a high-end aluminum wheel manufacturer in Mexico. The biggest of the three machines – a 9 meter long, 21 tons weighting multi-axial test bench – has been tested over the last few months and is now awaiting shipment overseas.

The AZN machine performs fatigue and endurance tests on aluminum car and light truck wheels by rolling them on a coated load drum. With a standard tire resting on the load roller, radial, tangential and lateral load forces can be simulated.
Many different protective devices are used and monitored during the test: travel distance, bulge and burst, inner rim flange, deflection depth of the tire, limit values of force and angle. Motion control systems record and control the loading forces. The AZN machine can optionally be supplied with two load stations, which doubles the testing capacity.
