SIMULATION - Chicago O’Hare (ORD) Wide Body 747 Aircraft Fire Simulator Contract

28.03.2018

SIMULATION is commencing the design and building of a large frame wide bodied triple deck aircraft fire training simulator for the Chicago O’Hare Airport.

This simulator will be the most technologically advanced in the world, offering a wide range of internal and external fire and rescue scenarios for the advanced training of the ORD fire department.

Besides the many proprietary features to be included in the rig, there is realistic aircraft seating, luggage racks, rest rooms, galleys, flight deck, crew sleeping areas, over wing exits etc. The unit will consist of a cargo area, economy class and business class cabin, with a dozen variable fire scenarios throughout.  Externally, multiple variable intensity fires on and around the realistic aircraft body can simulate fuel spills, engine fires, major structural failures, and landing gear scenarios. A new high tech computerized fire control and safety management system will be provided to control the new large frame aircraft, existing burn pit and existing small aircraft simulator.

The brand SIMULATION is the world’s leader in the design, manufacture, supply and installation of live fire training facilities. It is a part of the Alpine Metal Tech Group which is a world leader in four different business divisions (Steel, Automotive, Safety Services and Life Cycle Business) under seven brands (NUMTEC, GEGA, KNORR, AMAKON, MAGNEMAG and SIMULATION).
