SIMULATION - Awarded by London City Airport for live fire simulator upgrade

07.03.2017

SIMULATION is pleased to announce that London City Airport has awarded the contract to SIMULATION to refurbish and upgrade their existing BaE 146 / Dornier 328.

The aircraft fire training simulator facility was designed and supplied by SIMULATION in 2002 and has been in successful operation for 15 years. The scope of work includes:

  • Full upgrade of the fire control and safety management system to provide full electronic ignition & pilot flame recognition on all fire scenarios
  • Installation of a LPG gas fired fuel spill
  • Conversion of some fire scenarios from kerosene fuel to gas to improve its environmental performance

The Simulator will be removed from site and taken to our production facility for overhaul. On completion the facility will have 6 external LPG liquid gas fires , 4 external JET A1/ Kerosene fires and 1 LPG liquid fuel spill. Simulation will provide a temporary transportable aircraft simulator based upon a 4 seater PA 28 light aircraft to ensure London City Airport Fire Service can continue to train during the period of the off site upgrade.
