The machines were ordered to replace old GEGA machine that were delivered in 1990 and thus had been in operation for 24 years to full satisfaction of the customer.
The first machine, has now successful been commissioned. The second machine is delivered and scheduled for being installed in 2024.
The machines are designed to handle slabs of 600 to 1600mm width / 200mm height, and are executed as a so-called universal machine, means installation on both caster strands, which are mirrored, is possible.
Due to the material composition, iron powder facility – separately for each torch carriage – has been installed.
The design of electrical control system is based on ALLEN BRADLEY with main operating desk through main control room and an additional maintenance control desk.
The scope is including two machines each furnished with measuring rollers, control and switchgear plants.
Full commissioning has successfully been completed within two weeks by GEGA specialist in corporation with local Alpine Metal Tech North America - Engineers.
We thank our customer for constructive collaboration and all involved Alpine Metal Tech team for successful project realization.
